About Lisa - Director/OT.
I’m Lisa, an Occupational Therapist and founder of Weave OT, based on Wadawurrung Country in Geelong.
I have worked as an Occupational Therapist for more than 20 years, across urban, regional and rural communities in Australia. Across these settings, I have been shaped by the people I have worked alongside: people with rich, complex lives, often navigating systems and environments that do not fully understand them.
I’ve always been drawn to the quiet details of everyday life: the small, ordinary moments that give life its texture and meaning. Occupational therapy, to me, is about supporting people to participate in those moments with authenticity and confidence, to live in ways that feel aligned with their values, not just focused on function.
I’m interested in how what we do, how we feel and where we live intersect. Our daily activities, the things we need, want or are expected to do, are shaped by systems, histories and environments that don’t always fit everyone. Over the years, I’ve seen how often people are asked to mould themselves to fit systems that were never designed for them, like square pegs in round holes.
My focus is on adapting environments, expectations and supports so people can participate on their own terms, without needing to hide, shrink or compromise who they are. I practise with humility and authenticity, aiming to create space where people feel safe to be themselves.
I hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy), and a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health. Weave OT is my way of practising occupational therapy in a way that feels aligned: relational, evidence-based and guided by equity and respect.
