Our values.
At Weave OT, our work is built on the belief that every person deserves to be heard, understood and valued - not just supported to “cope” or fit in, but respected as a whole person with their own histories, identities, values and ways of moving through the world.
Social justice is at the heart of what we do.
We recognise that many people experience barriers because services, environments and communities are not always accessible, flexible or responsive to difference. We aim to provide support that respects individual identity, challenges assumptions, and honours each person’s right to participate in life in ways that feel true to who they are.
Our role is not to “fix” people. It is to create space for better understanding, support self-determination, and work alongside people to build daily lives that feel more manageable, authentic, safe and connected. We advocate for services and communities that are more flexible, respectful and responsive, so people are not marginalised, silenced, or expected to change to fit narrow definitions of what is “normal.”
We are guided by the principles of being:
Neuroaffirming: honouring diverse neurotypes and ways of being in the world.
Trauma-informed: building safety, trust, choice and collaboration into the way we work.
Culturally responsive: acknowledging Country, culture, identity and lived experience.
Person-centred and partnership-based: working alongside people, rather than doing things to or for them without their voice.
We believe meaningful change is more likely when people are met with respect, dignity and curiosity - and when services are willing to question ableism, stigma and exclusion. Our aim is to bring together understanding, creativity and practical support so people can participate in life in ways that feel safe, authentic and true to who they are.
